The slogan you will see on my signs is “Mesa In Mind.” It is not just a slogan. I believe that having a strong K-12 education system in Mesa is vital as we prepare students to be part of a workforce qualified for today’s jobs, and as we attract quality businesses. Our schools are an integral pillar of healthy neighborhoods. They should be the the gathering hub and a source of pride, and contribute to high property values. During my time on the board, we have partnered with the City to dramatically increase and strengthen Pre-K programs and help our students “Count on College.” We have championed programming to equitably serve our special education students, our immigrant students, and our most at-risk students.
